Current Referrals, Complaints and Appeals
Referrals and Complaints
If the Pension Protection Fund Ombudsman thinks his decision about a Referral or a Complaint may significantly adversely affect people other than those who have made the Referral or Complaint or the Board of the Pension Protection Fund, he will take reasonable steps to contact those people. For example, he will publish details on this website. We use the term significantly adversely affected persons to describe such people.
In addition, where the Ombudsman's decision may mean that there are significantly adversely affected persons, we will ensure that details of the pension scheme(s) are given here. If you think that a decision about a pension scheme shown here may significantly adversely affect you (and we have not contacted you already), please contact us straight away. If you are a significantly adversely affected person, the Ombudsman will take account of any representation you make (providing we receive it within our time limits) before reaching his final decision.

Appeals
Details of appeals that the Pension Protection Fund Ombudsman is currently considering
Date of publicising appeal 12 May 2011
The PPF Ombudsman has received on 20 April 2011 in relation to the Roger Bullivant Ltd Pension Scheme an appeal about the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) scheme manager's decision about the scheme's eligibility.
If you wish to take part in the appeal about the scheme eligibility decision please click on the ‘form' below and send it to the PPF Ombudsman together with any written representations you wish to make. Click on ‘interested persons' below for information about your rights and what you can do if you wish to participate in the appeal. Particularly, please note the time scales for participating in the appeal.
When the PPF Ombudsman makes a formal decision this will be final and binding on the parties and all interested persons subject only to an appeal to the Courts.
On 17 May 2011, the PPF Ombudsman received a representation from the FAS in respect of this appeal. This will be made available to any interested person to allow for comment.
To appeal or join in an appeal against a scheme notification decision or a scheme eligibility decision you must be an interested person. Interested persons will be the trustees or managers of a pension scheme, and can include someone who is receiving or may receive benefits from a pension scheme which is winding up or has wound up. To be an interested person, you do not need to have received a decision from the Financial Assistance Scheme – decisions usually affect a number of people.
If you think you are an interested person, and you would like to take part in an appeal, please contact us straight away. We will ask you to complete a form. When we have received your application, we will write to let you know whether you are an interested person. We might ask you for further information to reach our decision on whether you are an interested person or not. You will not be able to take part in any Appeal unless the Ombudsman decides that you are an interested person.
